Hi, I'm John — the founder of Benn's Basics, based right here in Queensbury, New York.

Benn's Basics started the way most good ideas do: out of frustration. I kept buying kitchen gadgets that looked great online but fell apart after a few uses, or were so complicated they just collected dust in a drawer. I knew there had to be a better way — practical, well-made tools that actually earn a spot in your kitchen.

So I set out to find them. I tested products, researched suppliers, and built a catalog around one simple question: "Would I actually use this?" If the answer was yes, it made the cut. If not, it didn't.

What started as a personal mission has grown into a store I'm genuinely proud of — and a community of home cooks who just want to make great food without the fuss.
